The Good Dinosaur is the second release from Pixar in 2015 (Other one being the amazing 'Inside Out'), and I was really looking forward to watching it because, well, It's Pixar, CMON!! The movie takes place in a setting where the asteroid that killed all the dinosaurs missed earth, resulting in them to keep on living for millions of years more. Now this is a really interesting premise and they could have done so much with it, but sadly we only get a buddy-up adventure type movie. Not that there is anything wrong with those types of films, they can be pretty fun but I just can't help but feel like a huge opportunity was wasted here just because of that approach. Anyway, so the movie focuses on a child dinosaur in a family of dinosaurs, which are obviously sauropods (But not sure which one, eh who cares), and are living on a farm because I guess dinosaurs not dying out have evolved them a bit more. This movie is about the true story, the encounter that inspired the famous novel Moby Dick. Now I had something different in mind when I started this movie up cause the trailers and advertisement painted a different picture. Nevertheless what I got was surprisingly better. The performances in the movie were all really good. It is a well acted movie. Chris Hemsworth and Benjamin Walker, the two leads, both were great and the story had them pitch together in this sort of rivalry, that kinda reminded me of Ron Howard's previous movie also starring Hemsworth, Rush. And while it was no where near that good, it still resulted in tension and commotion between characters. The movie takes its sweet time to get things going, the starting 15-20 mins can be a bit too slow for some, but I wasn't bothered by it. An epic movie of biblical proportions. Darren Aronofsky took Noah's story and added some of his own fictional/fantasy elements to deliver a great and immense visual experience. It is very apparent from the name that the story is based on Noah. But if you go in watching this movie religiously or something similar, you will surely be disappointed. The immense amount of hate this movie got was mostly from extreme religious people or atheists from what I have seen. Regardless, watching it with an open mind is the only way to go. I liked the first half more, mainly because of its more EPIC nature, whereas the second half was more tense and psychotic I should say. The movie had a stellar cast. Russel Crowe was great as Noah. Then you had other characters played by Jennifer Connelly, Anthony Hopkins, Emma Watson, Logan lerman etc. I will say though that acting wasn't good all round, there were some inconsistencies here and there, even by the main cast but overall it was pretty go...
